Yesterday morning we hosted a group of 20 Chinese travel operators and journalists - it was their only stop in the Wairarapa so we felt very privileged to host them. The group is on a "travel trade famil" and are being hosted by Tourism New Zealand and Air New Zealand. Many many thanks to the team at Destination Wairarapa for arranging this visit. Here are a few pics from the visit.

The vet visited Harry earlier in the week and gave him his first vaccine. He is starting to eat grass and enjoying his walks around the garden.
"Deer Harry" has been out meeting the world. Not exactly the royal walk-about but at least some time out in the sun and meeting some of his KG whanau. Harry has Guto [one of our alpaca's] green halter on - it fits perfectly.
Harry is slowly getting use to be lead but we are very uncertain on our surroundings at times. We hope slowly but surely he will come around. Here are a few pics of Harry enjoying some space! You know that autumn is here when the green leaves of the Gingko tree turn yellow, the arrival of the Tibouchina's bright purple flowers and the tree dahlia finally flowers!
Last week we received a phone call from our vet asking if we were willing to take on an orphaned fawn [baby deer].
How could we say no? We were told it was a baby girl so thought maybe Charlotte would be a nice name. Once we got "Charlotte" home and on closer inspection we thought it was more appropriate to call our young buck "Harry"! Harry has settled in well and is drinking his bottle very well. We feed Harry every few hours and seems comfortable in his new home - the horsefloat. |
